Disc one features the original Yentl soundtrack, and disc 2 features 15 additional tracks. The second CD includes demos Barbra recorded in her living room on a stereo cassette deck to get the movie made, while also providing her narration. These demo recordings feature Barbra accompanied only by Michel Legrand on piano.

The first version was superb, the best soundtrack I’ve ever heard and I can still remember watching Yentl in the cinema, several times over, with chills running up my spine at the end of A Piece of Sky. Strange that a soundtrack can so excel but this is right up there with Guilty. Amazing
